Everybody loves looking through their wedding photobook and remembering their special day, but for one couple their album will mark a wonderful achievement as well as a lovely day.

Beth Wheeler, from Somerset, can look at her pictures and admire her dress with pride, after shedding more than ten stone in the run up to her big day.

The 36-year-old weighed more than 22-stone when husband James proposed, yet as she walked down the aisle she was a mere 12-stone.

She told the Daily Mail that the proposal was just the spur she needed to shed the weight. She bought herself a size 12 wedding dress and vowed to spend the next year slimming into it.

She told the news provider: "It felt like a real achievement to be wearing that dress knowing what I'd gone through to get there and I received so many compliments.

"James has been very supportive and is proud of me. I did start slimming before we got engaged but it was the real motivation and it gave me something to aim towards."

Wedding weight loss has been in the news recently as Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton slimmed down dramatically prior to her wedding to Prince William at the end of last month.
