Get away from the holiday hotspots in Portugal for photobook opportunities

If you want some really interesting holiday shots from your holiday to Portugal this summer, then stray off the beaten path, and head away from the Brit hotspots in the Algarve.

Portuguese tour operator On the Beach said it had seen a huge increase in the number of people travelling to the coastal area in search of sun, sea, sand and summer fun.

But for those who want to explore further than the traditional 'strip' area, there is plenty to do further afield, which will offer stunning picture opportunities for your holiday photobook.

Sun and Sea, the Algarve Promotion Bureau, suggests heading to the beautiful Ria Formosa National Park which offers some fabulous views and gives you the chance to experience the wildlife of Portugal away from the beaches and bars.

Tavira in the Eastern Algarve also gives a different view of the Algarve than you would normally get, with charming churches, fine mansions, and plenty of charming restaurants to choose from.

On the Beach reported that it had seen a 90 per cent rise in the number of Brits jetting off to Portugal over the Easter break.
