Snap-happy culture vultures should head to Scotland for summer photobook

From the cities to the glens, Scotland is to be a hotbed of culture this summer, making it the perfect place to go to get some shots for your summer holiday photobook.

You could head over the border for a week or two and take in all the latest sights with your camera to make up a great cultural photobook.

Historical houses, new museums and iconic galleries should be on your list of places to visit on your trip, and with so many places opening or being refurbished you will be spoilt for choice.

To begin with, June will see the opening of the Palace at Stirling Castle, following a £12 million restoration project to bring this iconic building back up to scratch.

Visitors to Edinburgh will see the National Museum of Scotland reopen its doors following an extensive refurbishment project. This family favourite is sure to have plenty of things for the whole family to see and do, and plenty of photo opportunities as well.

Hot on its heels, Scotland's oldest public museum will reopen after its own refurbishment.

Further north, Shetland will see the opening of Mareel, the UK's most northerly music, cinema and creative industries centre.

Other projects are also due to take place later in the year.
