Hanoi will be the setting for the release of the new bilingual photobook Around the Hoan Kiem Lake and Beyond.

The 112-page book, which is written in both Vietnamese and English, features 100 candid shots by photographer Quang Phung's large collection of pictures focused around the Hanoi area.

It is entirely photoshop-free, Thanh Niem News reported.

The book has been produced in three parts. The first shows the fascinating beauty of Hoan Kiem Lake and its significance to the people of Hanoi, the second follows the photographer's meditation on the society around the lake, and the last part shows the traditional process of making lotus tea and Phung Thanh pagoda off Kham Thien Street.

It also includes exclusive portraits of several notable figures in Hanoi, including composer Van Cao and painter Tran Van Can, the news provider reported.

Hanoi is the second largest city in Hanoi, with around 6.5 million residents.
