Interesting Ascot hat display could fill a photobook

From a flamboyant display of flowers attached to the side of the head to a bizarre display of fake hair and cabbages, the hats have once again been the star attraction at Royal Ascot.

Nancy Dell'Olio was one of the leading head gear enthusiasts yesterday with an intricate waterfall of purple flowers tumbling from the back and side of her head.

With photographers out in force snapping away at all the interesting outfits, someone could easily put together a photobook displaying all the unusual items of millinery.

It could be testament to the hours of hard work which went into creating each and every one of the accessories.

At the other end of the scale, the royal family have been praised for their stylish dress.

The Queen, Princess Anne and Camilla Parker Bowles all cut stylish figures as they made their way to their seats.

Even Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, who were criticised for their outfits and bizarre headgear at the wedding of cousin Prince William in April, were looking demure and well-dressed for the occasion.
