Simon Cowell has gone all out for his TV pal and X-Factor co-host Nicole Scherzinger by presenting her with a number of personalised gifts for her 33rd birthday.

Not to be outdone by LA Reid who got the ex Pussycat Dolls singer and dancer some exquisite flowers, and Paula Abdul leading a 500-strong rendition of happy birthday, Cowell turned up the "X Factor".

The first gift he presented the star with was a personalised cake with a picture of him on it, followed by one of those classic New York style t-shirts that say "I heart".

In this case the t-shirt had a picture of Cowell under the "I heart" moniker.

Looking gorgeous in a sparkling silver dress, Scherzinger told the audience members: "I am so excited, I woke up this morning and it's my birthday and I have an amazing job working with three of the most wonderful people in the world that I have ever met."

She added: "Well two actually – and then there’s Simon too!'
