Holiday snaps like this make for a vivid photobook

Holiday snaps are not what they used to be if Marino Cano's images are anything to go by.

A quick browse through her holiday photobook reveals a brilliant talent that belies the fact she is just an amateur photographer.

Ms Cano's recent trip to Africa has produced some astonishing black and white photographs of wildlife that takes the breath away.

One beautiful picture, which shows her canny knack for composition and emotion, captures the moment a baby elephant is reunited with its mother, their trunks joined together.

She said: "It was an amazing experience. The animals were so beautiful and I loved taking their pictures."

Other outstanding pictures include a moving shot of baby monkey cuddled by its mother and a stunning, almost impossible, group portrait of Watusi cattle clustered together in the back of a truck and two giraffes horsing around, unaware a storm is brewing up behind them.

Patience will most certainly be a virtue if people want images like Ms Cano's.

'I would spend the whole day shooting the wildlife, from 6.30am to 6.30pm, and then select my favourite ones," she said.
