Frogs at the centre of new exhibition

As far as photography exhibitions go, the Midwest Museum of Natural History's latest is definitely one for wildlife enthusiasts.

The museum is showcasing an exhibition of photography that is entirely dedicated to frogs and their rather colourful lives.

Most people are used to either seeing the odd frog pop up randomly in their back garden, at an aquatic centre or in someone's ponds, but these pictures cast an entirely new light on the lives these amphibious creatures live.

For example, the pictures, which were shot by John Murphy, show different aspects of a frog's life, from the way they go about courting to the way they look at different points in their life cycle.

Mr Murphy told the Northern Star: "Frogs are a good way to engage people's awareness of environmental issues."

Having also photographed snakes, Mr Murphy added that frogs were naturally less threatening to people.

The exhibition will run until December.
