Want a good wedding photobook? Make sure the snapper knows what they doing

Anyone looking at William and Kay Collins' wedding photobook could be forgiven for thinking that the images were taken by a guest who'd had one too many glasses of champagne, however, the off kilter shots, many of which missed off the bride's head, were part of their cruise wedding package.

The couple, who splashed out almost £10,000 for their dream cruise wedding, are devastated that their only mementoes of their happy day are blurred and out of focus.

Speaking to the Sun, William said: "The photos were truly appalling, as was everything on the cruise."

He added that they were even more angry when they found out that the snaps had been taken by a chef rather than an experienced photographer.

For couples who want to make sure their own wedding photobooks are nothing like the Collins', there are ways to ensure that your images come out as good as possible.

Firstly, on one of your visits to the venue, decide where you'll want the images taken and check that the light will be right at that time of day.

It is also advisable to meet with the photographer several times beforehand so that they know you and your partner as a couple and can take shots which reflect your personalities. This will avoid any stiff, uncomfortable images.

And finally, check your photographer's credentials and examples of their work in advance so you know what you are getting.
