Labour leader Ed Miliband announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend Justine Thornton this week.

The pair, who have been together for six years, have been facing questions over their relationship status for years, but Miliband has always said he is too busy to tie the knot.

Now the couple, who have two children, have made the decision, they could mark the occasion with a beautiful memory book cataloguing their relationship so far.

From their first days together to the birth of their children and Miliband's rise to become the leader of the Labour party, all the events would make lovely additions to a memory book.

Miliband will marry barrister Thornton in a small ceremony at Langar Hall hotel near Nottingham, where Thornton grew up.

Following the announcement to the press yesterday questions were raised over whether David Miliband, who lost out to younger brother Ed for the Labour leadership, would be best man on the big day. The couple admitted that although he would be a guest, the older Miliband would not have a key role in the ceremony.
