Life of Beatles legend George Harrison to be told through photobook

Olivia Harrison, wife of the late Beatles star George, has landed a deal for an illustrated photobook telling the story of her husband's life.

Living in the Material World: George Harrison, will feature never-before-seen photos from the guitarist's collection, as well as letters, diary extracts and memorabilia, which will give a true impression of his life.

The book, which will be published by Abrams, will be created by Olivia, and edited by Mark Holborn. Martin Scorcese will write the foreword, in line with a documentary about the Beatle set to be released at around the same time, Media Bistro reported.

A press release about the book, which will be released in the autumn, said: "The book will be filled with reminiscences from Harrison's friends, among them Eric Clapton, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George's family.”

George Harrison died in November 2001, following a four-year battle with cancer. Following his death fellow Beatle Paul McCartney said: "He was a lovely guy and a very brave man and had a wonderful sense of humour."
