Songstress Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcomed twins into the world just hours before the couple renewed their wedding vows.

They are now the proud parents of a boy and a girl, but as the couple have not yet named the new arrivals, it will be difficult for well-wishers to pass on personalised gifts to mark the occasion!

Mariah gave birth to her children in hospital in Los Angeles on Saturday. The Daily Mail reported that her America's Got Talent presenter husband was panicking so much on the way to the hospital that he got lost.

Following the renewal of their vows, which marked the couple's third wedding anniversary, Cannon tweeted that his wife had given him the best anniversary present possible.

The couple married in 2008 following a whirlwind romance. Mariah fell pregnant soon after the wedding, but suffered a miscarriage.
