Young Mick Jagger subject of photobook and exhibition

Think back to the 1960s. The Beatles are in their heyday, flares are in fashion and a young Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have just started a new band called the Rolling Stones.

These are the days catalogued by a new photo exhibition and photobook compiled by Francois Hebel.

Mick Jagger: The Photobook has been released by Thames and Hudson in collaboration with an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery called Mick Jagger - Young in the 60s.

Retro To Go reported that the exhibition will include rare photos of Jagger, including the first NPG image of Jagger, a Cecil Beaton shot taken in Morocco in 1967 and an image from the Rolling Stones’ first official photoshoot.

The book features similar images, as well as many other shots, showing his progression from pouting teenager to music sensation and on to his older years. It also features shots from his film career, when he starred in pictures such as Performance and Ned Kelly.

Mick Jagger is often celebrated for having enjoyed one of the longest careers in rock.
