Rare Pink Floyd photos would be fans' photobook dream

Pink Floyd fans were treated to the group's first performance in 30 years this week when the surviving members took to the stage at the O2 arena in London.

It was a huge surprise when the trio arrived on stage, as fans had been expecting to see only former member Roger Waters in his The Wall tour. It is not known whether Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason will join him on any other parts of the tour.

A photo exhibition showing a rare collection of behind-the-scenes shots from the band's heyday has also gone on show at the British Music Experience museum at the O2, showing a range of largely unseen photographs from an archive.

After the thrill of seeing the iconic band reunited on stage last night, a photobook created from the pictures in the exhibition would be the icing on the cake for many fans. As yet, however, there are no plans to do this.

Museum staff expect the exhibition to be very popular.

Curator Paul Lilley said: "Pink Floyd are one of the greatest bands of all time, true pioneers. The collection from Rockarchive is quite stunning."
