About Face Masks
Protective Face Coverings
Whether you are interested in reusable or disposable face masks, we offer a range of different protective face coverings for the whole family. Comfortably fitting over your nose and mouth, our protective face masks help to protect yourself, and others, against the spread of infection, so you can go and do the weekly shop or catch the bus safely.
Our range of non-medical face coverings work by reducing the number of droplets and particles, as well as dust and pollen, from entering the body. However, as with all non-medical face coverings, they are not certified for medical use and should not be used as PPE.
We have a range of different face masks that offer various levels of protection. Our reusable face masks hold a replaceable filter that consists of five layers of non-woven fabric, which helps to filter out 95% of dust, chemicals and particles. Along with reusable masks with double air valves, to help improve air circulation and reduce moisture build-up inside the mask.
We have styles suitable for both adults and children that are breathable, windproof and skin-friendly, so you can ensure the whole family is comfortable. Whilst stretchy ear loops on our children’s protective face masks ensure a secure, snug fit.
As well as our range of washable face coverings, we stock disposable face coverings which offer ease and convenience, along with 3 Layer Filtration to help protect against exposure to bacteria. Our range of antiviral face masks is suitable for almost everyone of all ages.
Is wearing a mask required?
Members of the public are currently being advised to wear face coverings if they are out in enclosed spaces where social distancing may not be possible. Places where the UK government is recommending you wear a mask, and in some cases making it the law, include shops, public transport and hospitals.
Do masks protect you from diseases?
Although it has not been proven that masks can stop the spread of Coronavirus or other diseases, when combined with other preventive measures such as frequent hand washing, they can help to slow the spread of viral droplets.
Can I wear a facemask if I have breathing difficulties?
Asthma UK states that it is safe for those with breathing difficulties to wear a mask, as wearing a mask does not reduce a person’s oxygen supply. However, people with breathing difficulties may find that wearing face masks or coverings will make it harder for them to breathe. So, it is a question of finding one that is most suitable for you. A mask made from a cotton material is considered to have better ventilation and will trap less of the moisture build-in inside the mask. This material may be more comfortable and easier to get used to for someone with breathing difficulties.
Should I get reusable or disposable masks?
There is no additional advantage to wearing a disposable mask compared to a washed and cleaned reusable one. Which face mask you decide to use will largely depend on how often you intend to wear one. The main difference being that disposable masks should only be worn once, and a reusable mask can be worn multiple times.
Do masks protect you from coronavirus diseases?
When used correctly, wearing a face mask over the nose and mouth may help to reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets when a person coughs or sneezes. Please note, our range of masks are not certified for medical use and are not proven to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) have recommended the use of masks to help prevent and limit the spread of certain respiratory viral diseases, including COVID-19. However, it is stressed that the use of masks alone do not protect against COVID-19 and are insufficient to provide an adequate level of protection. Face masks and face coverings should be combined with social distancing, regularly washing of your hands, and other preventative measures. We advise looking at the coronavirus page on the NHS website for more information.
Do I need to wear a mask every time I go out?
When going for a walk or taking part in other outdoor activities by yourself or with people you live with, a mask isn’t required. However, when it becomes difficult to maintain 2 meters distance from people you don’t live with, such as when exercising, it’s important to wear a mask. You should also be wearing a mask outside of your home if required by law. Many areas now have mandatory masking regulations when out in enclose public spaces, such as shops and public transport.
