Data and Charge Cables
About Data and Charge Cables
Here at MyMemory, we stock a variety of high-quality data and charge cables for mobile devices, including USB-C, Apple Lightning and more.
What are data and charge cables used for?
A charge cable connects your mobile device to a mains charger or computer to charge your phone’s battery.
Data cables are used to provide a communication link between two devices so that photos, songs, videos and files can easily be transferred from one device to another, for example, from your mobile phone to your computer. Many data cables can also be used to charge mobile phones, too.
Can different cables charge my mobile phone faster than others?
Yes, USB cables can impact how quickly your mobile device takes to fully re-charge, but the cable alone isn’t the only factor to play a part in charge speed. Using the wrong cable can actually slow down the rate at which your phone charges, so it’s important to make sure you use the right one for your device.
What’s the typical transmission speed for a data cable?
Generally, there are three different bandwith groups for data cables. These are:
1.1, which transfers data at a maximum speed of 1.5 m/b per second
2.0, which transfers data at a maximum of 480 m/b per second
3.0, which transfers data at a maximum of 640 m/b per second
How do I know which cables my phone is compatible with?
Once you’ve found the cable you want on the MyMemory, use the compatibility checker on that page to find out whether or not your chosen cable can be used with your mobile phone.
